Vase, Moon jar
Vase, Moon jar
Inspired by the classic Korean vases called Moon jar. Traditionally, they have been made in porcelain, but here I have worked with a gray clay and decorated with brush strokes in white porcelain clay.
Another characteristic is that the foot ring is smaller than the opening, which should give it a more fluid feel.

The vase is unglazed on the outside, with a white glossy glaze on the inside.
About 12 cm high.

ABOUT THE MATERIAL
ABOUT THE MATERIAL
Turned in stoneware. Dishwasher and microwave safe.
Note that matte glazes can get cutlery marks more easily.

A living material
Clay is a living material, and creating in clay is a multi-step process.

Clays and glazes
More about clays and glazesI have selected a couple of standard glazes and clays that I work with. The colors are neutral, close to nature and fit well together. I find the meeting between clay and glaze exciting - I want you to see the clay with its structure, that it is not perfect. Therefore, many of my products are only partially glazed.
