Supporting new and passion-driven entrepreneurs in different ways is important to me. So when Therese at the_wiman contacted me and asked if I wanted to lend some ceramics to her pop-up shop, I was doubly happy!
the_wiman is a circular fashion brand from Stockholm that was launched in 2020 by Therese Wiman. They design, sell and reuse our garments to extend their lifespan - slow fashion into a modern wardrobe. Strong values about sustainability permeate everything they do and they believe their customers have a similar lifestyle and consume in the same way. The pop-up shop will contain sustainable Scandinavian garments from the slow collection, pre-loved and a brand new upcycled collection.
My contribution to the pop-up is specially created for this occasion, but has grown into a whole collection, Kollektion Sand . The base is a coarse clay with a clear structure, where the sand is visible and becomes part of the expression. On parts of the products, the structure of the clay meets a glossy white glaze, which creates an exciting contrast. Sometimes the glaze has run a little, as if to show that you don't have full control over life. The imperfect perfect. What makes it alive and personal.
Three of them will be in place in the_wiman's popup, and you can buy it here from me. Delivery then takes place after the pop-up has closed, i.e. after 16 July.
