New project: The Plate Project 2026

Nytt projekt: The Plate Project 2026

It is easy to get stuck in routines and just checking off to-do-lists. I’ve learned over the years that I always tend to focus on things that I’ve promised to other people, and always downplaying my own creative time. So this summer I thought I would change that.

I’ve had something like this on my mind for a while, but not being sure of what and how to do it. Some of you might remember my #100vaseproject that I did a few years ago. It was a great project to do, so I wanted to something similar again.

And then inspiration came, from different directions, and the pieces fell into place.

So this is The Plate Project 2026. I’m going to make 100 small plates, all individual, all about 10-15 cm. I will be playing around with glazes, glazing techniques, shapes and decoration. The plates will be numbered, and will be suitable for food as well as hanging as a decorative piece on the wall. I think they will look wonderful as a group collection or an installation on the wall.

I still have not decided on when and how to launch this collection, but I figured that will be made clear while I’m working on the project. It will most likely take me a few months to get this all done.

This feels really exciting and inspiring, and I already have a ton of ideas I want to try out. I hope you will find it just as exciting!
